Lack of Content

Well I hate to say it my lovely people but this blog, hence forth shall be drastically lacking in content. Of course I shall be updating you on the Kevki front and our accomplishments in the on going battle to tie the knot, BUT right now things are a little up in the air. At this point in we're looking at destination weddings but have yet to hammer down a date, place, or even theme... so until then I have very little to report. Of course the two of us are all too welcome to any suggestions so suggest away! In the mean time you may find entertainment in another blog of mine. I notice some of you have already been creeping around there. Random Lustings is a blog about my many obsessions of all things creative and beautiful and of course you'll stumble across a creation or two of my own. Maybe I'll see you there?

Kevin gives his love,

OMG!

We're getting down to the wire now. Kevki is down by 2%. I feel a tightness in my chest. Every time Kevin tries to talk to me about it I have to walk out of the room. I can't handle the tension. I should be able to breath right now right? Kevin is on the phone every 2 seconds talking to someone, who was talking to someone, who was texting someone to get votes up. It's getting insane. Everyone say a prayer to "the beer god that is Carlsberg", and when you're done doing that get your entire family, all of their friends, your neighbours and their dogs to VOTE! Before I have a mild coronary and Kevin has a aneurysm.

Vote For Kevki or ELSE!

We've been really sweet and nice so far about recruiting members for the Army Of Kevki and, yes, so far it's worked in our favour. But we thought that maybe we should change it up a bit and put a little kick in your pants. Are your frightened? You should be. This is the amazing and talented Tonya Verbeek, the bronze and silver Olympic medalist of the Canadian Women's Wrestling team. And if you don't vote for Kevki, she'll give you a nasty nuggie! Er... no, no, no... she'll tear your cranium away from your shoulders! ARRRRRRRRRrrr! Ya, that's it. Scared now?

Check out the whole photo shoot here.

Fist Fight

The war rages on... actually it's kind of just a bit of a fist fight at the moment. I think in order to keep my sanity about the entire thing Kevin and I will not log onto the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash site until the end of the night. The constant up and down of that tiny red or green heart is bound to cause an abnormal amount of pressure in ones cranium.

But we thought in the mean time you'd all like a little something new from the both of us. So check this out. If team Kevki wins the Carlsberg $100,000 wedding we will have some VERY special wedding crashers:

That's right! That is John-Angus MacDonald of the Trews! Kevin and I love all things Canadian, but we especially love Canadian music! And if these east coast boys show up, this wedding promises to be fanfriggintastic! And if for whatever reason you are not a fan of Canadian music I'm sure we'll find something to tantalize your senses.

What the heck are you all waiting for?! Go vote~ Kevki

WE MADE IT!

IT'S GO TIME TROOPS! RALLY UP SOLDIERS! WE'RE GOING TO BATTLE! Some of you may not make it out alive, some of you may be maimed or tortured and others may not sleep or eat for days on end but if THAT is what it takes to reign supreme that that is what we will endure! Now GO GO GO!

Love you all!

Go KEVKI!

Radio Gaga

This morning started bright and early at 6:00 AM and somehow we managed to get ourselves to the studio and on the air without stuttering or drooling. This is the full interview with Shiona Thompson and Bob Batina of AM900 CHML and Team Kevki.

TV BABY!

This is the what's Up Hamilton Interview with Linda Rourke. Just look at the luggage under my eyes. Kevin looks great, I look old. But hey! We got on TV! and that has to count for something.

Rest

OK Folks, after 11:59 tonight you can take a rest. You have all been rock solid this entire time and we can NOT possibly thank you for all the support, well wishes, and dedication. It's been not only surprising but heart warming to know that you all have our back so completely. If we make it through to the next round on Tuesday it's full speed ahead. Team Kevki will be hence forth known as the ARMY OF KEVKI! So troops, rest up... we may be calling you to battle.

Love you all!

Kevin and Kim

I still have plenty to talk about in the mean time so tune in, i'll still be blogging. xo

Implotion

This is getting insane. My head is likely about to implode. I'm not a competitive person! I don't know where I am getting the energy and the drive to do this. Would you believe me if I told you I spend at least 6 hours a day on the computer promoting the hell out of this competition and Kevki not to mention the other 2-4 hours spent on painting lawns, cars, posters, and just running around.

There are moments when I have to stop myself and think " did I eat today? Was I wearing this t-shirt when I went to bed last night?" Poor Jackson just crawls around my desk chair bringing me objects he locates on the ground that he finds exhilarating. There are days when I start to lose my head over how much time is being taken away from him for this endeavour. And then I watch him playing contently with my paintbrushes as he rams them into the floor register and giggles to himself and realize he's become very self sufficient rather then clingy like he once was and that is a great thing. He makes sure that I take a break every 10 minutes for some - chase the dog with a paintbrush time, of course.

I get lovely e-mail pep talks from Kevin after he's come home from a long day at work. And then there are the super fans like Crystal, Tami, and Jylian who harass every poor sap they know and DON'T know in order to get Team Kevki more support. They motivate the exhaustion out of me! If they can spend hours a day campaigning for us without the promise of a prize at the end then I sure as HELL can run myself into the ground for this worthy goal. And then there are of course all the other dedicated and loyal friends and supporters. This whole thing has blown my mind. There are so many people out there that have been solid from day one working on keeping us at #1. Complete strangers e-mail me to tell me the promotional ideas they have for us and what they have been doing to keep us on top. The comradely that has come out of this is worth it alone. That all being said I'm sure you all would like to know what we have been up to. Well... take a look:

We met up with Mike Tyler of 97.7 HTZ-FM to talk about the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash!

Linda Rourke of Cable 14 Hamilton Life did a short interview with us for the What's UP Hamilton show which will be followed up with a spot on the Hamilton Life program. The What's up spot will show sporadically through out the day from Wednesday until Friday and again Next week. We'll let you know when we get the clip up for your viewing pleasure.

Shiona Thompson of AM900 CHML and the Morning Distraction has asked us to come in for 8:00 Friday morning to talk about our adventures in the contest thus far. We will of course post that interview as well when it becomes available to us.

We painted our car, will be painting the van, as well as friends vehicles.

There are now adds for our possible wedding in Kijiji and we have two videos of Team Kevki being hosted on the front web page of MyHammer.ca and SO much more but I'm tired. And I need a nap now.

Love you all!

It's All in Who you Know

Connections, connections, connections! I can't lie, it's really nice knowing the right people. It just so happens that the right people, or person in this case is my future sister in law. That's right, my sister in law to be just so happens to have a career in Personal Relations and well, she's connected. So what did the sister in law do for her brother and I? Well not much really, just a little PRESS RELEASE that was sent to every local media, encompassing print, broadcast and online media sources. That's all. Nothing major. Ha ha ha! I love it! Thank you ANN!

And guess what!? Mountain News, Cable 14 and CHCH TV and radio station Y108 have responded with interest.

So if you want to help give them a little bit of a shove feel free to write them and let them know that team Kevki needs their help. How amazing would it be to have our home town backing us up and taking part in helping to create our Happily Ever After!?

Attention Hogs

It's hard not to attract attention when you are amongst a mob of 32 excitable people adorned with white Carlsberg - Vote Team Kevki t-shirts, Carlsberg tattoos, self inking stamps to brand every unsuspecting passerby, all lead by a woman in a wild Carlsberg green mohawk (that would be me). Team Kevki took it to the streets last night and let everyone they passed know that they are a team who is not going to except anything less then a giant $100,000 Carlsberg party when this is all said and done.

It was a long and eventful night full of self promotion, Carlsberg promotion, Carlsberg consumption, poster pushing, body stamping, Carlsberg consumption, dancing, Kevki chanting, Carlsberg consumption, photo ops, oh and more Carlsberg consumption. All in all it was a very eventful and successful evening. Actually it was fantastic. I'd do it all again in a heart beat. Some people MAY have gotten a teensy bit carried away with the body stamping... ahem... Kevin, not mentioning any names. We all made new friends and new team members.

The Pheasant Plucker let us get up on the mic and tell the crowd about the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash, the Aout'n About Pub gave us Carlsberg England soccer Jerseys, and we met up with Tomi Swick! Wait until you see the video of what he thinks of Team Kevki. ;) If nothing else, last night was a great night among good friends, new friends and memories to talk about for times to come. Thanks to everyone of you who came out and those of you who wished you could but couldn't. If we make it to round two you can count on another night of bonding mayhem!

Curb Appeal

So I don't know what you have all been up to for the past day or two but I've been making signs. You know, the kind that people put up on their front lawns during an election. Only I took it a step further. What do you think?

* Our love for Carlsberg is so eternal that we convinced our friends to let us paint the Carlsberg logo on their front lawns. Not bad eh?

Update!

DUDES! I haven't posted anything for a little while! You must miss me terribly! I am most terribly sorry for my absence! I know you missed me, lets not be modest here. This is one spot where you can just tell it like it is and not worry about being judged. Well not that anyone will admit anyway.

Ok so you must be wondering what is going on! Well, looks like we are still the most popular as far as public votes go. But don't kid yourselves folks, that doesn't guarantee anything. If Team Youbumchum in 50th place has very few votes but has pimped themselves raw for Carlsberg they could make the top 3! No, I shit you not. Which means Team Kevki has to take it up a notch! OH AND DON'T YOU WORRY your pretty little arses. We've got plenty of stunts up our sleeves. However we will not be foreclosing those details here. Let's not be naive about this folks. All the contenders are spying on each other, looking for ideas, motivation or just outright copying each other. This is a competition after all and from what I can tell there are no refs to rule out foul play. So our stunts shall remain under lock and key until I post the photo evidence here for all to witness.

If you'd like to help us out you are invited to join us this Saturday August the 14th in Hess Village to promote Team Kevki. Let me know if you'd like a team Jersey!

xox

You know I love you!

Reasons Why Team Kevki Should WIn the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash

Reason # 3

Kim will not have to be a pregnant bride.

Truth be told, all Kim has ever wanted from life was to grow up, be an artist, get married and be a mom. I found it a little odd when she told me that when she grew up her chosen career path was to be a professional mom. I mean, aren't women now days against that sort of thing? I thought women wanted to get out of the house and have lives out side of just being a mother. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great! Heh, I also think that today's society makes that dream rather difficult to obtain. But despite that scary fact I'm going to do what I can to help her achieve that dream. If any of you would like to help me out I'm not above shamelessly plugging myself here. Ha, it's not for me! It's to make Kim's dream come true. Seriously. Anyways, what was I saying? Oh, right, Kim will not have to be a pregnant bride.

Two years ago we kind of decided to start a family. Kim wanted to be married first. I didn't think it was all that important. One thing lead to another and after a year Kim found out she was carrying our first child. Sadly that baby didn't make it to full term but that didn't deter Kim, not for one second. Within a month we were pregnant again and this time we were blessed with our son Jackson (a.k.a. Carl). Of course Kim is a little bit more traditional then I am and wants us all to share the same last name and become an official family. It's a beautiful notion, one that I intend on delivering. But she's not so traditional that she intends on waiting for a wedding before expanding upon our little family.

We hope to have another bundle of joy shortly after Jackson's second birthday so that they can be close in age and while we still have the patients that comes with youth. That means Operation Family Expansion will commence in March. That leaves very little time to save, plan, buy a bigger house, find a hall, photographer, videographer, invitations, decorations (if I know Kim decorations will cost more then the hall) honeymoon blah, blah, BLAH! It stresses me just to think about it! All of which would have to be done before we commence Operation Family Expansion so that Kim can enjoy our wedding day with out swelling, mood swings, aversions to the smell of the wedding cake or puking all over my fancy shoes.

To sum it all up, we need to win the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash because we couldn't possibly pull it all off ourselves before March and I really want to make Kim's dream come true of an official family, with the same last name, and a mom who can stay home and raise her children the best way she knows how.

So please help me make Kim's dream come true and vote for Team Kevki

Victims of Love

I don't think we have ever harassed so many people all at once and for such a consistent amount of time! We're trying to be stimulating and yet not irritating. It's becoming more and more apparent that there is a very fine line between both. So who am I harassing now besides all of you?

BT! I love you. All of you. I am most definitely NOT what anyone would call a morning person and Breakfast Television puts me in a cheery state of mind first thing in the morning. I only wish you were on at 5:30 AM when my son decides it's time to wake up.

I have a request. I'm not sure if it's possible on your end but I have to give it a shot because it's very important to my fiance and I.

We want to get married! and of course there are SO many complications that come with such an adventure. Big family, small wallet. Too many feet to step on. Have a destination wedding.... too many people of importance can't come. City Hall? Over Mom's dead body... so what?! Well here it goes! My fiance Kevin, and I, have entered a contest. If we win this contest we will get a $100,000 wedding this coming October 1st. The contest is the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash. So far we are in first place in terms of votes but votes are only worth 20% of the win. We also need to convince the Carlsberg Panel that we are worthy of this prize. Which means we have to get ourselves noticed by the public and get Carlsberg as much exposure as possible while proving our undying love for one another and Carlsberg Beer. We really want to get married this October! So could you PLEASE help us? In the very least could you vote for us and at the most could you tell all your viewers to vote?!

Thank you for anything you can do for us.

Your fans,

Kim and Kevin. AKA Team Kevki

So there you have it. Our latest victims. Maybe if you all write to them and let them know how kick ass we are they will look upon us with a deep seeded need to help us. Yes?

Reason's Why Kevki Should Win The Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash

Reason # 2

Kevin would look hot in a kilt.

I don't care who you are, what your sexual preferences are or how sexy your mate is, you have to admit that Kevin would look super stellar in a kilt. There is something jaw smacking about a good looking man sporting a plaid skirt. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the notion that he's not wearing anything under it. I have a very good resource who tells me that is how a real man wears a kilt. Or if it's from watching Brave Heart one too many times. What ever the reason may be I can't wait to walk down an isle toward him, he in his dress and I in mine.

If We Win The Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash

Things We Will Do With All The Money We Will Save:

1. Buy a bigger house so when we commence with Operation Family Expansion, the baby will not have to sleep under the kitchen sink.

2. Stock up on Carlsberg because the cheap beer really sucks.

3. Hire a nanny to drag on our honey moon with us so we can whoop it up like only honeymooners can, rather then constantly be wondering how our baby boy is back home. Do they have Carlsberg in Tahiti?

4. Buy a bigger family sized vehicle so that we don't have to leave the babies at home with the dog in order to fit a case of Carlsberg in the car. Awe, just kidding. We wouldn't leave the kids with just the dog. No, no, the cat will be there too.

5. Hire some poor schmuck to write out 748 thank you cards because, that's how many people will show up to our wedding. Give or take a few.

6. To be continued...

Reason's Why Kevki Should Win The Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash

Reason # 1

Get Kevin Out of The Dog House

You see, Kim has been waiting to get married for just over 3 years now. Kevin keeps telling her it's going to happen. In fact he each time he tells her it's going to happen he follows it up with the word "soon". From what Kim can gather Kevin's version of soon differs greatly from her own.

The last time Kim asked "when?" Kevin promptly responded with "the ring is being made" That was a year ago. It would seem that this ring is being created completely from scratch and mining for the stone has not gone to plan. Kim is fairly certain that the mine must have collapsed and all of Kevin's mining efforts to find the perfect stone, a shiny blue sapphire, have been temporarily side tracked due to the rescue efforts of the minors, as well as the reconstruction of the mining site. What else could the hold up be?

The time before that Kim decided rather then wait for Kevin she would cleverly coax him into picking up the pace. She decided to send him a wedding invitation to their wedding that was to commence in 10 months, the first weekend in October to be exact. She would pick out the day, the decorations, the minister, do all the leg work and all he had to do was show up. What was the hard part? The hard part it would seem is that Kevin didn't find that very romantic, and as you may have cleverly guessed it did not come to pass.

As it turns out, Kevin has had a few too many follies and blunders in his attempts to be romantic and create the perfect situation in which he believes Kim deserves. Of course he refuses to tell her what these mishaps are until he's able to pull it off. What he doesn't seem to understand is that at this point in the game she would joyously say YES if he proposed to her while she was on the can.

Then the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash was brought to their attention and all previous desires for a formal and romantic proposal flew out the window. It's full steam ahead now. This wedding IS their wedding. And if they manage to pull it off Kevin will most definitely be out of the "dog house".

If you'd like to help get Kevin out of the dog house then please be so inclined to drop by the Carlsberg Big Wedding Bash and vote for Kevki!

A Little Something Something...

So I thought ya'll might like to know a little something about us. I figure if you know us a little better you'd be more inclined to help us win the Big Wedding Bash that Carlsberg is hosting. Mighty manipulative of me I know, but it'll only hurt you a little bit.

So I think it obvious that I couldn't possibly start from the very beginning as there just isn't enough time in a day. So I think it best to start some where in the middle.

Kevin and I were introduced to one another by our dear friend Lisa. He was 21. I was 28. However at the time neither of us were interested in being introduced to one another. You see there was just too much of an age difference between us. What was the point in meeting when nothing would come of it in the end? But Lisa saw something that Kevin and I did not, so she persisted.

Eventually I became part of Lisa's band of merry friends, Kevin of whom was one of them. So naturally he and I became acquainted with each other over a period of months. I wouldn't say we were friends though. He and I would have small talk here and there but mostly we liked to pick on each other. I loved to watch him though. I thought he was beautiful to look at. I even found myself missing his presence when we were all out together and he was absent.

One night while we were all out at an
Irish pub watching a cover band and drinking Carlsberg, he invited me to join him on a fancy red couch he had been occupying by himself. I sat next to him for the remainder of the evening while we analyzed the couples surrounding us. We would make up stories of how they had met, what they did for a living, and if they would stay together or break up in a fit of jealousy. Shortly after that evening he started to come by to visit me from time to time. We would sit in the living room of my 3rd story apartment and talk all night while sipping on red wine and listening to music. It was almost instant how we became the best of friends.

One cold winters night after one of our many long conversations I fell asleep beside him. While drifting off into a deep slumber I mumbled the words "I love you." Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap! My own words had startled me awake and I cringed at the thought that he may have heard them. Hoping he had also drifted to sleep and not heard my confession I waited, barely breathing, in silence pretending to still be asleep. Much to my embarrassment I realized he was awake as he shifted his weight back and forth in his spot. Too afraid to move I eventually drifted off to sleep again. But he later told me that that was when he realized he loved me too. From that day forth we were inseparable. He was always so good to me back then. He would pick me up from work and have a warm plate of food waiting for me on my seat. He would wash my laundry for me although when he mixed my whites with the darks and discoloured my favourite shirts, I'd have a mild seizure. I came home from work one day and he had repainted my entire apartment. I adored him completely.

I've been in love once before I met Kevin but never have I ever loved someone so completely that I could change all the negative things about me in order to be a better person for him. Don't kid yourself though. Change is brutally tedious and I'm certain I aged 2 years just from the stress of trying. I had to learn how to say things like "you might be right", " I don't know", and "please". I may have also given myself an
ulcer trying to smile and be tolerable in the mornings. I've never been much of a morning person, but I love him that much.

I can't speak for Kevin... or I shouldn't, but he's fast asleep on the couch so it only makes sense that I tell his side of the story. Right. Well he adores me! The sun rises and sets around me. Women ceased to exist once he met me... hahahaha right. Although I think he must adore me. He puts up with testy morning me, and cranky I'm running on 4 hours sleep because, of our 9 month old son, me. And he even humours the, I know everything, me. Not to mention how many times after our son was born, he told the 55 lb heavier version of me how beautiful I was. So even though I likely shouldn't speak for him, I think it fairly safe to say I'm adored.

So now you know a little bit about us and we want to get married. So will you help us?
